After the Samsung Unpacked event, where the South Korean giant unveiled the new top-of-the-line devices of the Galaxy S10 family and the revolutionary Galaxy Fold, now its time to focus on MWC 2019. This is the worlds largest mobile fair on the planet and all major manufacturers will be attending and showcasing new devices that will leave tech freaks in the coming months.
This year, the MWC takes place in Barcelona, Spain, as in its previous editions, between February 25 and 28. With possibly several of the new products being announced a day.
MWC 2019: What to Expect?
It’s all more to know and major smartphone rumors will come to true at MWC 2019. Even Samsung, which after Unpacked, should put some of its new devices to test during the event in Barcelona. Rumors point to a possible update of the middle line of their smartphones, the Galaxy A, and even a new tablet. Nothing confirmed yet, but event attendees are hopeful to do tests on Samsung’s next top line, which should be on display in Barcelona.
The LG, compatriot, and competitor of Samsung, should also take their big bets of the mobile market for MWC 2019. Tech experts believe the company will introduce its ThinQ G8 smartphone to the public, with a possible triple camera, 4K LCD screen, and the latest Snapdragon 855 processor.
It also points to an optional second screen. Without any data, the second screen would function as a case for the smartphone, using a USB-C port or a connector itself. The LG is also working on a smartphone with a folding screen, but it probably will not give the guys at MWC 2019. Already the 5G devices are sure to appear at LG’s stand at the event in Barcelona.
Japanese giant Sony updates its top-of-the-line smartphones every six months, so it’s expected to announce the Xperia XZ4 at MWC 2019. The new Sony device is expected to come with the Snapdragon 855 processor, triple camera and a fingerprint side reader. The Xperia XZ4 Compact version can also make headlines at the Sony conference as well as new Xperia XA3 series devices.
Chinese giant Huawei will also be at MWC 2019 in Barcelona and is expected to update its top-of-the-line. According to rumors, the manufacturer will announce the P30 series smartphones, which may come with four rear cameras and on-screen fingerprint scanner.
A 5G smartphone with the foldable screen is one of the company’s stakes to hit Samsung in the fight for technology leadership and could be announced by Huawei during MWC 2019 as well. What has been confirmed on the device is its processor, which will be the Kirin 980. A new Tablet is also expected at the Huawei booth and many surprises.
The Xiaomi, another Chinese giant technology should announce a 5G variant of its Mi Mix 3 and some other devices, but the top of the line Mi 9, his main focus for the first half, came out even before the new Galaxy S10. Xiaomi’s focus could be its fingerprint reader technology built into the smartphone’s display, as well as the unveiling of a foldable smartphone.
Nokia should take the MWC 2019 its new top of the line, the Nokia PureView 9. The smartphone, according to rumors, should come with 5 rear cameras, the fingerprint reader on the screen, a 6-inch display, and with Snapdragon 845 processor. The Android One should be the device’s operating system.
