It’s been a long time that WhatsApp is working on a dark mode version of its app. Today, we found that Dark mode is ready to arrive in its next beta 2.19.282. Also, it will be compatible with the Android 10 interface.
What does this mean? The dark mode will be automatically activated once the device turned to dark mode version. It is exactly the same behavior that other apps like Skype, SoundCloud, Pinterest and Google apps have implemented. If you prefer to activate it manually, you can also do it from the settings.
Dark Mode Is Already Reached Us
According to WaBetaInfo, a new menu called “Theme” has listed in the settings. Within it there are three options, namely:
- System default: It is based on the system interface.
- Light: It is the default theme we have right now.
- Dark: It is a manual dark mode option.
In the images of WaBetaInfo, one can be seen that the dark mode is not completely black, but that the interface turns dark gray with blue details. What does that mean? That on AMOLED screens the pixels will not turn off. You can also see that the interface is not well adapted and that some texts, when turning white, are not completely visible.
The new update also comes with self-destructing messages. A function that was recently discovered and has been updated with more time intervals. Thus, one can choose to have the message deleted after five seconds, one hour, one day, one week or one month.
Neither of these two features is still active or has a release date, so one has to wait until they reach us. The most normal thing would be that they first reached the beta version and, then took the stable version of Google Play.
